Mrs. Denise Ridente
Mrs. Denise Ridente is a first year Garwood Board of Education member and is honored to have been elected in November 2018. She has been a Garwood resident for the past 24 years. Married with two children ages 10 and 15 who attend or have attended Lincoln school, she is familiar with our children’s education. She has a master’s degree in social work since 1994 and has 20 plus years working with adolescents, adults and their families. Mrs. Ridente would like to ensure that the Garwood school district is preparing our students to be successful in High school and beyond. She would like to enhance student programs in technology, the arts and promote professional education for our teachers. As Garwood’s population continues to grow, she will encourage communication between board members, administrators and our municipality. Mrs. Ridente is looking forward to her new role as a board member and brings her interpersonal skills working with families and experience of middle school culture, and ability to think outside of the box to find solutions that will strengthen our school. She believes that the key to change and growth is to listen to what is being said by our administrators, teachers, parents and students. Communication builds greater trust, respect and improves teamwork.
