Ms. Tracey Roland was appointed to the Garwood Board of Education in 2015 and is honored to have this role. During her first year on the board, Ms. Roland was an active member on the Education/Policy Committee. This was a challenging year because Lincoln School experienced a 10% reduction of educators retiring or re-locating. Ms. Roland was grateful that our administration involved the committee in the interviews and encouraged/listened to their feedback during the final selection process. During the year, she attended the New Board Members weekend conference in February and the NJSBA Workshop “Partners in Student Achievement” in October. Ms. Roland is the board liaison for the Education Foundation of Garwood (EFG) and has been an EFG trustee since 2011 serving as the President of the EFG during the 2012-2013 school year. For 2017 Ms. Roland will be serving on the Finance/Buildings and Grounds Committee and the Negotiations Team. She is looking forward to this new role as she brings her expertise from running her own company that provides financial, reimbursement and regulatory advisory services to hospitals and health systems. In addition to the Garwood Board of Education, Ms. Roland volunteers in other organizations and was a recipient of a national award for “Making a Difference” in our community.
